Jiongoze Consortium
Eastleighwood together with other partners is implementing the Jiongoze project which aims at reducing vulnerability to violent extremism amongst youths by instilling a sense of purpose and improving their life opportunities.
Eastleighwood Kenya is implementing this project as media company with other partners in Kibera, Kamukunji sub-counties of Nairobi County, Garissa Township and Hulugo sub-counties from October 2018 – April 2021. Eastleighwood has long term partnership with local Radio and TV stations disseminating De-radicalization messages in Kiswahili, English and Somali in both Nairobi and Garissa Counties.

It is a health driven
gender and social justice organization working with partners and allies across
the globe to build healthy, just and peaceful communities in Kenya. Since its
founding in 1998, it has been carrying out health education and security sector
programs that are well guided by national vision, religion priorities and
international development goals.
Some activities
conducted are:-
Conduct advocacy
initiatives on youth involvement in peace initiatives, support youth to acquire
technical job skills and certification, train peace ambassadors and conduct
talent exhibitions for the youth.
EASTLEIGHWOOD
Eastleighwood Youth Forum was
founded in Nairobi, Kenya in 2011 and registered in 2012 as non-profit youth
led organization under Non-Governmental Organization Coordination Board. The
organization seeks to transform lives and livelihoods through arts, media,
capacity building interactive workshops and forums.
Some of the activities
include:-
Production of visual
arts and newsletters, prevention of violent extremism messaging through media
platforms as well as conduct street and school plays thus engaging youth to
participate.
WOKIKE
Womankind
Kenya is a national NGO registered in 1995.The organization particularly
targets women and children, the most vulnerable members of the society; it
addresses issues of Education, sustainable Livelihood, Water Sanitation &
Health, Women Empowerment, Good Governance and emergencies interventions. The
organization works with the pastoral communities at large to identify core
problems.
Some
activities conducted include: -
Training
youth on lifeskills, mentor behavior change communication youths to enhance
their sense of belonging and cooperation, conduct thematic events on sports,
culture and beauty. They as well support advocacy initiatives on youth
involvement in peace initiatives, link youths to job opportunities and
employability skills among many more.
DOCUBOX
It is
an East African Documentary Film Fund. They enable talented, driven, focused
and accountable East African artists to produce unique films that unearth new
realities and cross trans-national boundaries. Through training, development
and production grants, screenings for people who love documentary films,
Docubox promotes East African filmmakers and shares their unique stories with
the world through creative documentary.
Some
activities they do include:-
Production
of short films, screening of films and produce gifs and memes as well.
It is
a youth focused organization that seeks to empower youth in Kenya and across
Africa as the foundation for sustainable development and across Africa as the
foundation for sustainable development. It was registered in 2004 and has 14
years’ experience and runs youth empowerment programs across 26 counties. The
organizational strategy 2019 to 2022 is cognizant of the critical role youth
play in the realization of global sustainable development goals agenda 2030.
Some
of the activities conducted include: -
Conduct
mentorship and life skills training, thematic events as well, run mentorship
programs across different counties, conduct trainings among community leaders
in Kibra, among many more.
