on risks in the hope of making profit. In the process, they follow their
passion and perfect their entrepreneurial skills. The end result is new
products and ideas into the market, creation of wealth, employment
opportunities, improvement of their country’s economy, as well as improved
living standards.
In short, entrepreneurs build a nation!

Practitioners
Media means mass communication while practitioners
are people engaged in a profession. Media practitioners therefore, are people involved
in writing and transmitting news or information to the public.
They are the voice of the public and less privileged.
You want to tell a story? They help you. If you need a shortcut to sending a
message to the ‘president’, they are the right people. If you want to hear
people’s stories instead or know your country’s whereabouts even international,
look no further.
Their curious and creative minds were born to give
nothing but factual information. These people can either build or break your
brand. They are of uttermost importance to us.
Leadership
Who is a leader, and what makes them so great? He or
she is one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way. They possess
courage, for tough decision making and compassion for their people so as to
gain trust. Leadership involves motivating a group of people, with the aim of
working towards achieving a certain goal.
The mentioned descriptions happen when there is balance
between business, foresight, performance and character. It takes one with
focus, determination, a vision and ability to bring about cooperation in a
team, to be a leader.
Without this category, no one would receive an
award. However, this belongs to the one with exceptional leadership qualities.
HUMAN
RIGHT ACTIVITIES
“Human rights are rights inherent to all human
beings regardless of race, sex, nationality, ethnicity, language, religion, or
any other status” , is what most people would say. These rights include the
rights to life and liberty, freedom from slavery and torture, freedom of
opinion and expression, the right to work and education, and many more. For
decades people have come up with actions or approaches that they have used if
they see injustice or if they don’t believe a policy is fair. These activities
involves simple methods that people use to indicate what they feel. Debating issues,
organizing cultural events, writing letters, designing banners and so on.
Writing songs, or a music and plays is what people
have been doing to express their feelings.
According to many making banners and staging demonstrations outside
local companies to protest about pollution, outsourcing jobs, labor rights has
been one of the aspect to air their grievances, Creating posters or leaflets
about their issues, and handing them out or put them up in public places has
also played a critical role among the communities.
According to
research others say when you describe
problems you are facing you cannot say bluntly unless you make your own video
or organize a theatrical production on human rights theme, not only that but
writing articles for local or national paper or asking the local radio/ TV
station for an interview will be the perfect way of addressing issues on human
rights without getting your fingers burnt.
street
theatre, a protest march , petitions have many different aims like , raising
awareness of an issue , attracting others to a cause getting media to talk and
showing those in power that people are watching.
ENVIRONMENTAL
ADVOCACY
Environmental advocacy involves presenting
information on nature and environmental issues that is decidedly opinionated
and encourages its audience to adopt more environmentally sensitive attitudes,
often more bio centric world views. It is all about influencing people,
policies, structures and systems in order to bring about change.
As experts
and scientist would say the issue of environmental awareness is one that has
plagued our country for centuries therefore environmental advocacy is a
commendable goal. In addition Environmental advocacy protects the public and
planet from environmental hazards by lobbing for environmental legislation,
working with the media, organizing environmental events, recruiting members and
fundraising.
The focus could also be on human use of nature, such
as regional or urban planning. it also include more personal advocacy , such as
writing letters to the editor , going to community meetings and participating
in a protest.
There is no
doubt that advocacy is an important aspect of environmental protection
which addresses severe problems arising
from environmental mismanagement.Besidesthat we live in earth planet, and we
know without trees, plants, water, etc. we can’t make it. Furthermore we use
the environmental resources like air, land and water to meet our needs. While
meeting the ever- growing needs , we put pressure on the environment and when
the pressure exceeds the carrying capacity of the environment to repair or
replace itself , it creates serious
problems of environmental degradation . If we use any environmental resource
such as ground water beyond its limit of replacement we may lose it forever.
Thus environmental protection and advocacy comes to play.
